YOU ARE NOT WHAT OTHERS THINK OF YOU
Like it’s a saying that “life isn’t about finding yourself. It’s about creating yourself.”
So, have you ever wondered why we often find ourselves surrounded by opinions, from friends, family, colleagues and even strangers? So how do we go about this?! So, you’re absolutely not alone. You are a person with your own thoughts, feelings and dreams.
These common phrases are: -
- What will people think of me?
- What if people don’t like me or say mean things?
- What if people don’t accept me?
Here’s why you should not let others’ opinions pull us down:
- You Are the Author of Your Story: Think of your life as your book. You are the one holding the pen, not others. Don’t let someone else tell your narrative.
- Opinions Are Not Facts: Just because someone thinks something about you, it doesn’t it true. People see the world through their eyes, colored by their experiences and their insecurities.
- Embrace Your Uniqueness: Imagine if we were all the same, with the same thoughts, opinions and tastes. How boring would that be? Then there will no unique people with different mindset and viewpoints. So, our differences are what make life interesting. Celebrate what makes you unique, even if doesn’t fit others idea of who you should be.
- Self- Validation Is Key: It’s natural to seek validation from others, but the most important validation is yours which comes from within. When you believe in yourself and your abilities, the opinions of others lose their power over you. So, trust yourself and your judgements.
In conclusion, like Les Brown said, “Someone’s opinion of you doesn’t have to become your reality.” So, he said the truth. NOT HE? So, remember you are the captain of your own ship. Don’t let the other opinions lead you in your life. Create your own path and surround yourself with positivity.
